Ray Moylette will put his unbeaten professional record on the line as he steps up in class to fight for the WBC International lightweight title in December.
The former Irish amateur champion boasts an impressive 11-0 unbeaten start to life in the pro game and will now seize the opportunity for this homecoming fight that will take place in Castlebar on 7 December.
Former European amateur champion Moylette joined the paid ranks in March of 2017 and has kept himself very busy, fighting 11 times in the space of 16 months, fighting primarily in the USA and in England.
Moylette, who also won the world youth gold medal in the amateur ranks, will fight ten rounds for the first time in a bout which could establish a world ranking with the WBC.
The show, promoted by Assassin Boxing, will take place at The Royal Theatre in Castlebar, which has a long history with boxing, having previously held amateur internationals, as well as two of Henry Coyle's professional fights in 2011 and 2012.
"I'm honoured and excited to have the opportunity to be fighting at home in Castlebar. Not only will I showcase my skills to all my local supporters but I also can lay down a real marker for all lightweights around the world as I challenge for my first title.
"This is the stuff dreams are made of, fighting at home for a major belt. This is my time to become a household name around Ireland as this event I believe will be televised and I am currently in full-time camp preparing and making sure that we leave no stone unturned.
"Through my amateur and professional career most of my fights have been overseas and I've never got to share my experiences or triumphs with all who are dearest to me. This is an event for the community and I promise to leave everything in the ring.
"I've had a lot of ups and downs in boxing and life itself and I want to show what hard work can achieve."
Moylette's opponent along with the full undercard will be officially announced next week.
